Introduction to Photography
September 27th, 2021 @ 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM
Intro to Photography is a beginning photography course, designed to give students a working understanding of the technical aspects of taking photographs, as well as formal compositional principles and the expression of ideas through photography.
The class will include detailed instruction on how to properly expose a photograph and how to utilize the camera for creative techniques, such as shallow depth of field and motion blur. We will also view inspirational images by historical and contemporary photographers, and complete weekly assignments designed to practice new skills and challenge students to think creatively and conceptually through their photographs.
We will begin to discuss digital workflow and basic photo editing.
The class will meet weekly on Monday evenings from 6:30-8:30pm in the boardroom at Palette Upstairs. Bring your SLR or Point and Shoot digital camera. SLRs are available to rent at advanced request. This is a six-week course.
Proof of vaccination is required to register.
Tuition: $560 (20% off for the first 7 students to register)
